Introduction

Welcome. This page sets out the terms under which Lena Vesello ("I," "me," or "my") provides services to clients and organisations. By engaging me for speaking, advisory, consulting, coaching, or any related services (the "Services"), you ("Client," "you," or "your") agree to the following.

Definitions

"Lena Vesello," "I," "me," or "my" refers to Lena Vesello, operating as a labour economist, public intellectual, and professional speaker.

"Client," "you," or "your" refers to the individual or organisation entering into an agreement with me.

"Services" means any keynote speaking, panel appearances, advisory work, consulting, coaching, workshops, or related activities I deliver.

"Agreement" refers to the contract formed when you accept a proposal, confirm a booking, or otherwise authorise work to begin.

Engagement and scope of work

The nature, format, and deliverables of any engagement will be agreed in writing — typically through a proposal, booking confirmation, or letter of engagement.

By signing, paying a deposit, or otherwise confirming a booking, you accept the terms of the engagement.

Any changes to the agreed scope must be documented and may affect fees or timelines.

Fees, invoicing, and payment

Fees are outlined in the proposal or invoice and are exclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.

Payment is due within the timeframe stated on the invoice. Late payments may incur interest or suspension of Services.

If you cancel or postpone an engagement, I may charge for work already completed, non-recoverable costs (such as travel), or agreed cancellation fees as set out in the proposal.

Speaking and events

I reserve the right to decline or withdraw from engagements that conflict with my values or public positions.

Clients are responsible for ensuring that the event environment is safe, professional, and conducive to open intellectual exchange.

Recording, live streaming, or filming of any kind must be agreed in advance and in writing.

Intellectual property

All original content I create — including talks, frameworks, written materials, presentations, and research — remains my intellectual property unless explicitly transferred in writing.

You may use delivered materials internally for the purposes agreed. You may not reproduce, publish, distribute, or commercially use my materials without prior written consent.

Any materials you supply remain your intellectual property.

Confidentiality

Both parties agree to treat sensitive information disclosed during an engagement with discretion.

Confidentiality obligations do not apply to information that is publicly available, already known to either party, independently developed, or required to be disclosed by law.

I may draw on engagement themes in anonymised form for writing, research, or public commentary, unless we agree otherwise.

Privacy and data protection

I handle personal data in accordance with applicable data protection law, including the GDPR where relevant.

I collect only the information necessary to deliver the Services and will not share personal data with third parties without your permission, unless required by law.

Limitation of liability

Participation in any session, workshop, or event is at your own risk.

I am not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from the Services.

My total liability in connection with any engagement is limited to the fees paid for that specific engagement.

Termination

Either party may end an engagement with written notice, subject to any notice period or cancellation terms set out in the proposal. Work completed up to the point of termination will be invoiced.

Changes to services or scheduling

I reserve the right to adjust formats, delivery methods, or scheduling where genuinely necessary, and will communicate any significant changes promptly.

Governing law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Amsterdam.

Entire agreement

These Terms and Conditions, together with any proposal or booking confirmation, constitute the entire agreement between us and supersede all prior discussions or understandings.
